Bowline

Useful in making a loop for search and rescue, mountaineering, climbing, boating, horse and livestock, camping, and scouting. Fly fishing knot used to form a loop in the leader; sport fishing knot used to attach a loop in the line or the leader.

Advantages: can tie with one hand

Disadvantages: not the strongest knot, not very secure especially when it’s wet or stiff materials
