Palomar Knot

Fly fishing knot used to attach the fly to the tippet; sport fishing knot used to attach the hook/lure to the line.

Materials: medium to larger flies – size 12, turned up or turned down eyed hooks, good for super lines, suitable for 6-18 # test

Advantages: quick, easy to tie, very strong

Disadvantages: finer lines may squeeze through hook eye gap and rough edge may cut line, also heavier lines may work loose
